Frenuloplasty, or tongue-tied surgery, is a procedure that My Smile Doctors provides. To release the tongue, the lingual frenulum is clipped. The resulting triangle-shaped wound is then sewn shut. Your child’s dentist may administer general anesthesia or local for older children. After the surgery, the kid or adult can usually resume their regular diet, though they might need to take an over-the-counter painkiller such as Tylenol.
Complications of Frenuloplasty include infection and excessive bleeding.
